Mayweather-Guerrero Did $9.9 Million in Ticket Sales

That gate figure is an average of nearly $696 per ticket sold. Tickets’ face values were $1,500, $1,250, $800, $600, $300 and $200.The announced attendance at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino was 15,880. A total of 1,459 tickets were given away for free, and 139 tickets went unsold, according to the athletic commission.
The card is the 16th-highest-grossing boxing match to take place in Nevada, and Mayweather’s 5th biggest in the state, behind his wins over Oscar De La Hoya (No. 1 in gross sales at $18,419,200), Miguel Cotto (No. 9 at $12,000,150), Shane Mosley (No. 12 at $11,032,100) and Ricky Hatton (No. 15 at $10,393,950).
The rest of the top 15 in Nevada is dominated by bouts involving Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao. The lone exception: Joe Calzaghe vs. Bernard Hopkins, ranked No. 11 with a live gate of $11,636,400.
Mayweather outpointed Guerrero in the main event on May 4, winning 117-111 on all three judges’ scorecards and improving his unblemished record to 44-0 with 26 knockouts. Guerrero fell to 31-2-1 with 18 knockouts and 2 no contests.
