Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto is official for Sept. 12 on Showtime PPV

Finally, Mayweather vs. Berto fight is officially announced on Tuesday, August 4 as the Pound-for-pound king and welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on his final fight of his career against former Welterweight titlist Andre Berto. The title fight will stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 12.

The bout is the last on a six-fight deal he signed with Showtime/CBS in 2013. With a victory, Money can tie the milestone 49-0 record of the great heavyweight titlist Rocky Marciano.

MGM’s sports books told USA TODAY Sports they have made Mayweather a 50-1 favorite.


Floyd Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs) marking his 12th consecutive fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. His last fight was a mega-million victory against 8-dvision world champion Manny Pacquiao last May 2. televised on Showtime PPV (8 p.m. ET), will be the final fight of his brilliant, 19-year career.

Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) is a two-time welterweight world titleholder who currently holds an interim belt. He has recorded a 3-3 in his last six bouts.
