Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor: What date is the fight, where is it taking place and who will win?

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor fight is on!

It's showtime fight fans as the once-retired all-time great boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. faces UFC's biggest star Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.

What date is the fight and at what time?

The fight is happening on Saturday 26 August. While the times haven't been announced, it will certainly be a late night or very early start for viewers in the UK, so expect to be up well into Sunday 27 August, and possibly calling in sick on Monday 28.

Where is the fight taking place?

The bout will be housed in the T-Mobile arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. The venue has held major fights in the past, including UFC 202, in which McGregor beat Nate Diaz on points.

How can I watch it on TV?

Details are still to be confirmed but the fight will be a pay-per-view event, organised by Showtime Sports.

The price has not been decided, though it is expected to be at or near the $99.95 charged for Mayweather's 2015 fight with Manny Pacquiao that drew a record 4.4 million pay-per-view buys.

What are their fighting records?

Mayweather retired in 2015 with an unblemished 49-0 professional boxing record.

He is widely regarded as one of the best defensive fighters ever, and prides himself on his ability to evade punishment with his skillful movement about the ring while making adjustments against opponents on the fly.

A win for Mayweather would move him ahead of former heavyweight great Rocky Marciano, who also retired with a perfect 49-0 career record.

McGregor, the UFC's reigning lightweight champion and former featherweight champion, is known as much for his bravado as for his explosive knockout power inside an MMA octagon.

Mayweather won the match cleary scoring unanimously 115-112, 116-111, 116-111.

Money Mayweather did a lot of movement in the ring and avoid the ropes to minimize Maidana's plan of pining him to launch his traps and punches.

Maidana did scored in the third round, landing a nice blow right before the bell. He then capitalized on the fourth round but Floyd recovered successfully in the middle of the round.

In round 8, a bizarre moment where Floyd claim he was bit in his hand when headlock has happened between the two pugilists.

Kenny Bayless deducted a point to Maidana in round 9 for throwing Mayweather in the ground after a clinch.

Maidana is so desperate that only knockout is the salvation but Mayweather's is too smart to knew it and avoid the Argentinian hard-hitting puncher in the final round of their rematch.

It's over and Mayweather just take home another big payday of $32 million.

Fight fans, below are the results of #Mayhem: Mayweather vs. Maidana PPV undercard results.

Floyd Mayweather beats Marcos Maidana, but crowd unhappy

Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana arrived together at their post-fight press conference Saturday night, about an hour after Mayweather had won a hard-fought majority decision in a much tougher fight than most expected.

The press conference began well, with Mayweather, sporting a cut over his right eye and a welt over his left, congratulating Maidana on a great fight.

"You're a great fighter and very tough competitor," Mayweather told Maidana, who hails from Argentina. "Congratulations on the new baby. She's beautiful.

"Next time, just don't hit me (below the belt) so much."

Maidana quickly replied: "Next time let me use my gloves," a reference to a drawn-out pre-fight controversy involving the gloves Maidana wanted to wear.

    Things went downhill from there.

Maidana said, "give me a (bleeping) rematch."

Mayweather, standing at the podium while Maidana sat to the side, replied: "We can take it back down there right now if you want. Put the ring back up. … It's not a problem. If he feels he won, we can do it again in September."

September is when Mayweather is scheduled to fight again as part of a deal with Showtime.

For the 46th time 46 career fights, Mayweather, 37, came into the post-fight news conference a winner. And this time it was also as the world champ carrying the WBA and WBC welterweight titles

But it was not easy, a close, majority decision, much to the displeasure of the sellout crowd of 16,268, a partisan Maidana crowd that booed vociferously when the result was announced.

Judge Michael Pernick scored it 114-114, a draw. Burt Clements had it 117-111 and Dave Moretti scored it 116-112 for Mayweather.

    KHAN-COLLAZO: Mayweather's next fight emerges?

Mayweather (46-0, 26 KOs), threw half as many punches as Maidana (425 to 858), but landed nine more. Still, the 221 punches Maidana landed against Mayweather were the most in his last 38 fights, according to CompuBox statistics.

He didn't endear himself to Maidana when he said that Miguel Cotto hits harder than Maidana, and so does Canelo Alvarez.

Mayweather, who made $32 million for the bout, said he decided to stand and fight against Maidana, but Maidana did not leave him much choice. He came in wildly throwing his signature overhand right early and often and connected against Mayweather, who looked off his game early in the fight.

    Mayweather vs. Maidana Betting Odds

Early Mayweather vs. Maidana odds show Floyd Mayweather, Jr. as high as a 14-to-1 favorite against Marcos Maidana for May 3 bout named as "The Moment". Oddmakers don't think really think Maidana has the capacity to win this World Unification Championship bout. Well, its a miracle only if the Argentinean knockout artist can pull-out a lucky punch that can knockout the reigning pound for pound king and WBC welterweight champion.

Opening odds with Mayweather as a landslide 1/14 (-1400+) favourite, with Maidana as large as 10/1 (+1000). It's worth pointing out, too, that at present that's the best available price, with Irish bookmaker Paddy Power as short as 1/20 (-2000). By way of damning comparison, Mayweather was around a -750 shot against Guerrero (Guerrero +475), and in hindsight the oddsmakers may well consider that as much too generous. For reference, Mayweather's general price against Canelo last time out was around the -225 mark. Whichever way you slice it, this looks like a difficult sell.

Khan's audition may have been a fruitless one, but interestingly - or rather, as interesting as this whole gruesome affair can have possibly been - it was he that the bookies thought would put up more resistance. The word resistance should, in this context, be taken with a pinch of salt - Mayweather was priced up as the lopsided 1/8 (-800) lock, with Khan at +750 - but the theory that Khan had the better chance, however minimal, was - and probably is - still well-subscribed to.

Who are you betting between Mayweather vs. Maidana?

The Moment: Mayweather vs. Maidana is few more weeks left to and thousand boxing fans are still scrambling to order Mayweather vs. Maidana tickets still available online. Prepare yourselves fight fans a quite action-packed but surely a Mayweather centered showdown and money cash-cow. Enjoy!
